Job summary

Peraton seeks a cleared Satellite Ground Terminal Operator to join our Space and Intelligence Program in a high-availability, 24/7 operations environment. The role requires TS/SCI with poly and solid operational experience in satellite C2 contexts.

You will support 24x7 operations, coordinate with satellite owners for real-time status, resolve anomalies, and maintain secure, reliable communications across terminals and networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience, or an Associate's with 4+ years; or HS diploma with 6+ years of experience.
• TS/SCI with poly; ability to sit for and pass poly within 30 days of employment or per customer request.
• 1+ year of crew experience in an operational environment (Space/DoD/Intel).
• Knowledge of Space Domain Operations.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours based on mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supports 24x7 operations and management for a system of satellite C2 antennas.
• Coordinates with satellite owner/operators for real-time status reporting and anomaly resolution.
• Maintains an up-to-date picture of activities including command and control operations, schedules, system status, and availability; detects and isolates failures.
• Ensures secure data transmission and network capability.
• Coordinates factory support, maintenance, and compliance inspections.
• Provides expert-level technical monitoring and independent problem-solving.

Ready to make an impact? Peraton has an exciting opportunity for a cleared Satellite Ground Terminal Operator to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team, developing a next generation satellite terminal on a mission critical Space and Intelligence Program.

Responsibilities of the position:

• The Satellite Ground Terminal Operator will be responsible but not limited to: Supports 24x7 operations and management for a system of satellite Command & Control (C2) antennas
• Coordinates with satellite owner/operators to provide real-time operational status reporting and, resolve issues, and support anomaly resolution activities
• Establishes and maintains an up-to-date and complete picture of activities to include satellite command and control operations, schedules, system status, and system availability Detects, records, and supports the isolation of system failures
• Ensures proper network capability via secure data transmission services
• Coordinates factory support, recurring maintenance, and compliance inspections
• Expert level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts
• Working under only general direction, provides technical monitoring to a wide range of difficult problems.
• Independently determines and develops approach to solutions

The position will support thirdshift.

**This role will be working a non-rotating 8-hour shift schedule supporting a dynamic 24/7 operational environment. Occasional work may be required outside those times**

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience or an Associates degree with 4 years of experience. In lieu of degree, a High School diploma and 6 or more years of experience is required.
• Position requires a TS/SCI with poly. Ability to sit for the poly and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request.
• One (1) or more years of crew experience in an operational environment (Space, DoD, Intel, Operations Center Crew experience is highly desired)
• Knowledge of Space Domain Operations
• Willingness to work non-standard work hours based on mission requirements

Desired Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI with Poly
• Experience as a Satellite Controller or Satellite Communications Technician
• Understanding Radio Frequency fundamentals Satellite C2 operations experience with operating satellite ground terminals /antennas
• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Experience using Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation
• Excellent communication skills

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
