Job summary

Peraton in Colorado Springs is seeking a Satellite Operations Controller to support the Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST). The role provides satellite operations and health checks on orbital systems from Schriever Garrison, with real time interfaces to the Satellite Control Network.

Candidates must be US citizens with TS/SCI poly, a high school diploma and 5 years of related experience, and must be willing to work shifts to sustain 24/7 operations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish voice, messaging, and data communications for multiple satellite programs.
  • Configure and monitor displays for computer and network equipment during operations.
  • Coordinate multiple programs and schedule using custom software tools.
  • Identify anomalous conditions and take corrective actions.
  • Generate downtime reports and documentation for outages.
  • Support operations status, engineering review, and problem boards.
  • Identify areas of concern and propose improvements.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and compliance per PWS/SOW and regulations.

About The Role

Ready to make an impact! Peraton is seeking motivated Satellite Operations Controller in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to support our Front Range Operations and Sustainment Team (FROST) program, and to provide satellite support service to our mission critical Government customer. FROST conducts real time on-orbit support, launch ascent support and End-of-Life operations for all NOPS supported operations. You will provide the customer with a single operational and engineering interface to the Satellite Control Network (SCN). The work is performed at Schriever Garrison. This position performs satellite operations and health checks on satellite systems.

  • Establishing voice, messaging, and data communications for multiple-satellite programs of varying priorities and classifications.
  • Configuration and monitoring of displays for computer and network equipment during normal mission operations.
  • Multi-program coordination and scheduling using custom software tools.
  • Determination of any anomalous condition and providing corrective actions as required.
  • Generation of downtime reports and other associated documentation for operational outages.
  • Support to various operations status, engineering review, and problem boards.
  • Identification of areas of concern, issues, inefficiencies, and other non-value-added activities, as well as proved recommended solutions, as appropriate.
  • Supporting site operations to ensure quality, safety, and compliance requirements are maintained as described in the Performance Work Statement (PWS)/Statement of Work (SOW), site specific Occupational Safety and Health Administration publications, and local/state policies/regulations.
  • Supporting the FROST Managers to ensure a collaborative relationship is maintained with our Prime and government customer.

FROST mission critical support requires maintaining a team presence 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, and 365/366 days per year, including federal holidays.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • US Citizenship required.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of related experience with Satellite Operations, including military or civilian training and experience
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with a POLY
  • Must be willing to work shifts as required to support mission operations.

Target Salary Range: $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
