Peraton in Laurel, MD is seeking a System Administrator to join the Cyber Intelligence team. You will support IT systems, manage UNIX and Windows environments, and provide Tier 1/2 assistance on a national security program hosted on large-scale compute clusters and AWS.

A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required. A technical bachelor’s degree is required or five years SA experience in lieu, plus DoD 8570 Security+ certification.

Job Description: The System Administrator provides support for implementation and troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems.

Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

The Level 0 System Administrator (SA) shall possess the following capabilities:

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: LU

• An Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required
• No demonstrated experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Security+ (DoD 8570 compliant)

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
