Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer in Annapolis, MD to support a mission-critical enterprise service delivering software security solutions across customer enclaves. The role focuses on a cloud-based platform with microservices and containers, enabling secure, scalable operations.

You will collaborate with cross-agency stakeholders to design, develop, and sustain enterprise capabilities for national security missions, with no on-call requirements for the operations team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; equivalently two years of experience. A master's degree may count as four years.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification (Security+ or higher).
• One of the following certifications is required: AWS Developer - Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional, CKAD, Elastic Certified Engineer.

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise service delivering software security solutions across customer enclaves. This role supports a cloud-based platform leveraging microservices and containerized technologies to enable security, scalable, and resilient operations.

The engineer will work within a collaborative team environment, partnering with cross-agency stakeholders to design, develop, and sustain enterprise operational capabilities in support of national security missions. Team is sourcing for a Software Engineer that will join the Operations team. There is NO on call for this operations team.

What You'll do:

• Key performer on the Operations team to monitor, maintain, deploy, secure, and sustain a cloud-based microservice built software solution.
• Support the software engineering team with their design, development, testing, and sustainment of the software products.
• Contribute to architecture and design reviews, and assist in shaping technical approaches, timelines, and project scope.
• Troubleshoot and resolve testing, and production issues.
• Support customers across the customer mission space.
• Collaborate with team members to review and refine software, and system updates.
• Assist in shaping technical approaches, timelines, and project scope.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or in a related technical field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience. A master's degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience. NOTE: A degree In Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle including design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification (Security+ or higher).

One of the following certifications is required:

• AWS Certified Developer - Associate
• AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
• Elastic Certified Engineer
• Candidates must provide proof of certifications during the screening or offer process

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
