Job summary

Peraton is seeking an AWS Cloud Migration Engineer to migrate critical data flows into secure AWS environments. You will leverage GitLab for CI/CD, Terraform for IaC, and AWS services to design scalable cloud solutions.

You will work with teams across the organization to ensure secure, reliable data movement in a federal context. The role involves leading cloud migration initiatives, implementing IaC, and coordinating with stakeholders to meet critical objectives within an agile framework.

Qualifications

• Experience with message/file transfer tools using Axway Secure Transport.
• Experience with GitLab for source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing monitoring and logging in the cloud (CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
• Scripting experience (Shell, Python) for configurations and deployments.
• Automating deployments with services like Lambda, EC2, EKS.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TLS/SSL, certificates)
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain agency clearance.

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an AWS Cloud Migration Engineer to be a part of a team supporting a federal financial customer. The successful candidate will help migrate critical customer data flows in a secure, agile, and innovative AWS environment leveraging GitLab for CI/CD and Terraform for infrastructure as code. What will you do:

• Lead the planning and execution of migrating and maintaining large complex data flows to modern cloud environments, specifically leveraging AWS cloud technologies.
• Support and enhance COTS products providing file transfer and MQ services (e.g., IBM MQ, Connect:Direct), integrating them into modern AWS architecture.
• Write clean, maintainable infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and cloud service logic using tools such as Python, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation or CDK.
• Develop and support infrastructure using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
• Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and documentation of AWS environments and deployed solutions.
• Coordinate closely with stakeholders across teams to manage integration and interface requirements, ensuring clear communication and alignment with overall business objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 7 years with AS/AA; 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhDor 9 years of experience and a High School Diploma.
• Experience supporting or integrating message file transfer tools using Axway Secure Transport SFTP/HTTPS
• Experience with GitLab for source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing monitoring and logging solutions in the cloud such as: CloudWatch, CloudTrail, TEOS.
• Experience with scripting (Shell, Python, or similar) for configurations and deployments.
• Proficiency automating service tool deployments, such as Lambda, EC2, EKS.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of networking concepts (firewalls, ports, TLS/SSL, certificates)
• Experience communicating with business users and stakeholders.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain the required agency clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong background in AWS cloud engineering and development, including experience with services such as: EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, EKS/ECS, Secrets Manager, Key Vaults.
• Familiarity with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and participation in Agile delivery teams (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
• Understanding compliance and security best practices in federal financial cloud environments.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
