Job summary

CyrusOne is seeking a Director of External Communications to lead the company’s external communications strategy across national, industry and local markets from the Dallas headquarters. You will manage media relations, local community communications, corporate reputation, and crisis communications while guiding the external PR agency.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in communications leadership, superb media instincts, and the ability to navigate high-visibility industry growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in corporate communications, public relations, or corporate affairs.
• Experience in data center industry.
• Proven ability to advise C-suite on external communications matters.
• Proven track record in media relations with national/local media.
• Experience managing external PR agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead CyrusOne's external media relations and PR strategy across national, business, trade, technology, infrastructure, energy and local media.
• Oversee local and regional media engagement related to CyrusOne projects and operations.
• Develop and execute strategies to strengthen and protect CyrusOne's corporate reputation.
• Prepare executives for media interviews and high-profile external engagements.
• Lead crisis communications planning, preparedness and external response.
• Partner with Legal, Government Affairs, Development, Operations and Finance on external communications.
