Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is seeking innovative student interns to support external engagement with a focus on digital content creation and communications. You will research and draft concepts for the Bank’s main websites, and develop engaging social media materials for multiple platforms.

Interns work onsite in Cleveland for 10–12 weeks, 40 hours per week, starting as early as June. The position offers hands-on experience, mentorship, networking, and professional development

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Advertising, Communications/Communications Studies, Digital Communications and Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or Integrated Marketing Communications with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Should have at least one semester left to complete in school.
  • Strong digital skills required.

Intern Duties

Research, write and edit proposed concepts/features for ClevelandFed.org, the Bank’s main website. Research, write, and edit proposed concepts/ features for fedcommunities.org, the System’s storytelling platform for the Fed’s work in lower-income communities. Develop social media content and graphics that are engaging and informative for the Bank’s and Fed Communities’ social media platforms (X, LinkedIn, Threads, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky). Create materials for use at internal and external Bank events. Research local organizations and compile background information for external engagements. Assist other External Engagement teams (Comms, Marketing, Strategy) in other activities and duties as assigned.

Requirements for Internships

Currentlypursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Advertising, Communications/Communications Studies, Digital Communications and Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or Integrated Marketing Communications with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Should have at least one semester left to complete in school. Strong digital skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel. Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and ability to multitask. Ability to work independently and in a group setting. Strong oral and written communication skills.

Our interns will work onsite at our Cleveland, Ohio location.

We’re looking for collaborative and innovative full-time students entering their sophomore year or beyond. Our student interns work 40 hours per week for the duration of a 10-to-12-week internship that starts as early as June and ends as late as September, depending on student schedules and business needs.

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $20.50 and $26.00 hourly. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
