Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking an experienced Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT to maintain safe and efficient exterior operations. You will manage heavy machinery, seasonal maintenance, and third-party contractors while ensuring OSHA/EPA compliance and cost control.

The role requires knowledge of safety regulations, budgeting, and leadership to coach teams and uphold service standards. A DOT pre-hire certification and landscaping experience are preferred, with competitive hourly pay

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
• No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
• Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre-hire.
• As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
• 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain facility exterior equipment, including heavy machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance such as snow and ice management to maintain safe facility conditions.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, inspections, and documentation to ensure operational readiness and safety.
• Coordinate purchases of parts, tools, and supplies, controlling costs through price comparisons and warranty claims.
• Lead third-party providers, conduct quality inspections, and coach associates to uphold service standards.
• Address customer concerns by troubleshooting and providing timely solutions.
• Develop budgets, prepare cost estimates, and implement facility upgrades to enhance sustainability and efficiency.
