What You'll Do
- Perform exterior demolition and prepare buildings for recladding.
- Install siding, exterior trim, windows, and doors.
- Complete structural wood framing and repair damaged framing as needed.
- Install weather-resistant barriers (WRB), metal flashing, and waterproofing systems.
- Perform building envelope repairs to prevent water intrusion.
- Repair and replace decks and other exterior building components.
- Read and follow project plans and instructions from jobsite leadership.
- Identify material needs and communicate unexpected field conditions.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas, particularly at occupied properties.
- Communicate professionally with residents, property managers, and coworkers.
- Use company applications for timekeeping and photo documentation.
- Work with your crew to meet project schedules while maintaining McLeod's quality and safety standards.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of professional carpentry experience, preferably in exterior construction or recladding.
- Experience with siding, framing, window and door installation, flashing, and waterproofing.
- Understanding of building envelope systems and proper installation techniques.
- Ability to follow directions, troubleshoot problems, and work efficiently as part of a crew.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Dependable, hardworking, and willing to assist with a variety of construction tasks.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work at occupied properties.
- Basic proficiency with smartphones or tablets for timekeeping and job documentation.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to jobsites throughout King and Snohomish Counties.
Additional Experience That Is a Plus
- Large-scale multifamily or commercial exterior recladding projects.
- Building envelope restoration and water intrusion repairs.
- Deck reconstruction and structural exterior repairs.
- Experience working from scaffolding and pump jack systems.
Physical & Jobsite Requirements
- Ability to work 8–10-hour shifts, generally totaling 40 hours per week.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting and occasionally carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work on ladders up to 30 feet, scaffolding, and pump jacks at various building elevations.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and occasionally in confined or tight spaces.
- Commitment to following all company and jobsite safety requirements.
Tools & Equipment
Candidates must have a full set of professional carpentry tools appropriate for exterior construction and a reliable truck. Additional tools may be required depending on assigned work.
