Job summary

UF Health in Jacksonville, FL seeks an Extended Flex RN to provide patient care following the nursing process and practice standards. This role may float to ICU/other areas and assume charge nurse duties when assigned, maintaining accountability for assigned patients while collaborating with the care team.

The position requires Florida licensure, BLS/ACLS, and PALS within six months. Acute and critical care experience are preferred, with BSN strongly preferred. This is a full-time hospital role.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida (FL RN).
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• PALS required within six (6) months of hire or transfer (by deadline).
• Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety (90) days, then annually, for Psych Unit.
• 1-2 years Acute care experience and 3-5 years Critical care experience.
• Preferred: BSN degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse.
• Float to ICU/other areas holding ICU level patients (PACU, ED-ICU, Interventional Radiology, etc.).
• Function as charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintain accountability for assigned patients, even when some tasks are delegated.
