Job summary

St. John the Evangelist Hydes MD is seeking an Extended Day Program Aide to support the before- and after-school program. You will supervise students, assist with activities, and provide classroom support, with one day weekly in-classroom assistance.

The role emphasizes safe, engaging environments and teamwork within a Catholic school community that values the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of each child.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree or coursework in education is preferred.
• Experience with children in school, childcare, or recreation settings is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with teachers and staff.
• Dependable, patient, organized, enthusiastic; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage students during the Extended Day Program.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Support positive student behavior and reinforce school expectations.
• Ensure safety and well-being of students at all times.
• Help prepare and clean up activity areas, materials and supplies.
• Communicate professionally with teachers, staff and families as needed.
• Support small-group and individual instruction.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
• Assist with classroom organization and daily routines.
• Supervise transitions, recess, lunch and other activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by teacher or administrator.
