Job summary

Fort Bend Christian Academy is seeking an Extended Day After School Assistant to work with Pre-K through 8th grade students under the supervision of the After School Program Coordinator. The role emphasizes Christian supervision, positive learning, and support for spiritual, social, and academic development.

You will follow the school calendar, provide homework help, prepare materials, and help create a fun, safe environment daily from 2:30 to 6:00 PM, with flexibility for occasional changes.

Qualifications

• Must be a role model in attitude, speech and actions aligned with Christian values.
• Must meet background clearance requirements.
• Knowledge of math, language arts, Bible and science to assist students with homework.

• Keep accurate attendance records for sign-in and sign-out
• Handle student information confidentially and with integrity
• Communicate positively with parents, students and staff
• Prepare materials and equipment for after school instructional activities
• Assist students with homework assignments
• Be able to create a fun and safe learning environment
• Be prepared to implement the activities for each day
• Assure the safety of all students, promptly recording any misbehavior or accidents

Job description

The Extended Day After School Assistant will work with individuals and small groups of Pre-K through 8th grade students under the supervision of the After School Program Coordinator. After School Assistants will provide Christian supervision and instruction to students that will create a positive learning environment and allow for students' spiritual, social, and academic development. The after school program follows the school calendar and is closed during normal school closure days.

• Must meet background clearance requirements
• Knowledge of school subject areas including math, language arts, bible and science to assist students in homework

This is a perfect job for applicants who are Early Childhood Education majors and Social Work majors.

General Hours: Monday - Friday 2:30 - 6:00
