Schedule: PRN

Supporting 2 nursing homes (1 per day as assigned):

• Solaris Forrest Lake, 3355 East Semoran Blvd, Apopka
• Solaris East Orlando, 250 S Chickasaw Trail, Orlando

The role you’ll contribute:

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of assigned patients. Adheres to AdventHealth Orlando's Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable regulations. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations, documenting procedures accurately.
• Responds immediately to Code Blue emergencies, providing CPR per American Heart Association guidelines. Performs airway maintenance and assists with procedures such as bronchoscopy and tracheostomy tube insertion. May perform endotracheal intubation under supervision or after competency is achieved.
• Utilizes assessment skills, care plans, and team collaboration to determine therapy efficacy, making appropriate recommendations.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical ventilators, reviews radiology reports, and manages therapies like heliox.
• Performs hemodynamic procedures, assists with pulmonary artery catheter insertions, and may perform arterial cannulation after competency.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science
• Current, valid Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
