Overview

Critical Illness Recovery Hospital

Location: Orlando, FL

Physical Therapist (PT)

PRN/Per Diem/As Needed

Sign on bonus: $1,500

Pay: $55 per hour

At Select Specialty Hospital, a division of Select Medical, we care for chronically and critically ill or post-ICU patients who require extended hospital care. Select Medical employs over 48,000 people across the country and provides quality care to approximately 70,000 patients each day across our four divisions.

Responsibilities

• Using discretion and independent judgment, assist patients and their families in coping with the unpredictability of illness within the hospital environment.
• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participate in discharge planning, including placement, patient/family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, PT, and PTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy sessions.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and modify as needed.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Successful completion of all educational requirements mandated for state licensure or eligibility for a license in Physical Therapy.
• Current State licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.

Preferred qualifications:

• Some supervisory experience is preferred.
