Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an Expressive Therapist at the Medical City Mental Health & Wellness Center Frisco to join a multidisciplinary team focused on expressive therapies.

The role emphasizes helping patients develop self-expression through art, dance/movement, poetry, writing, drama or music within inpatient/outpatient programs. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Art/Music/Recreation Therapy and relevant certifications at hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or Recreation Therapy is required.
• Certification within the specialty may be required at time of hire (MT-BC, ATR-BC, or CTRS).

Responsibilities

• Complete activity therapy assessments.
• Provide group and individual expressive therapy sessions appropriate to client needs.
• Display professionalism in dealing with customers, staff and clinicians.
• Complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Complete documentation in a timely manner.
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in monthly activity therapy staff meetings.
• Attend and participate in weekly clinical supervision.
• Work with the interdisciplinary team in meeting treatment goals.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or Recreation Therapy – REQUIRED

Certification MT-BC, ATR-BC, or CTRS – POSSIBLE AT HIRE
