Job summary

Medical City Mental Health and Wellness Center Frisco, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks an Expressive Therapist to help patients explore feelings through art, music, dance, writing and drama as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves conducting assessments, delivering group and individual expressive therapy, documenting progress, and adhering to hospital policies. Strong collaboration with staff and clinicians is essential to meet treatment goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Art Therapy, Music Therapy, or Recreation Therapy is REQUIRED.
• Certification within the specialty (MT-BC, ATR-BC, or CTRS) may be required at time of hire.
• BLS and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Complete activity therapy assessments.
• Provide group and individual expressive therapy sessions appropriate to client needs.
• Display professionalism in dealing with customers, staff and clinicians.
• Complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Complete documentation in a timely manner.
• Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in monthly activity therapy staff meetings.
• Attend and participate in weekly clinical supervision.
• Work with the interdisciplinary team in meeting treatment goals.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
