Job summary

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital in Panama City, FL seeks a Recreation Therapist to deliver expressive therapies such as music, art and recreation for inpatients and outpatients. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to plan, implement and adapt activities that support recovery and functioning.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in therapeutic recreation, CTRS or MT certification within 6 months, and 1 year of behavioral-health experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a therapeutic recreation field required.
• CTRS certification through National CTRS Council or MT certification within 6 months of hire.
• One year experience in a behavioral setting preferred.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings between 8am and 9pm.
• Successful completion of Level II background screening required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based treatment.
• Plans, schedules and implements expressive therapy programs for patients.
• Engages patients in art, recreation, movement therapy and related activities.
• Documents patient abilities, needs and responses per regulatory standards.
• Performs assessments to evaluate coping and leisure skills.
