Job summary

The BUSY Group’s BUSY School Cleveland Campus is inviting expressions of interest from qualified teachers for 2027 opportunities. The roles support Year 11 and 12 students across Essential English, Essential Mathematics and Social Studies, with an emphasis on engagement and outcomes.

We welcome both experienced and early career educators who can contribute to a supportive learning environment, aligned with Queensland curriculum and school goals.

Qualifications

• Must hold a teaching qualification and be eligible for full Queensland teacher registration.
• Ability to teach senior secondary curriculum and engage disengaged learners.
• Experience delivering English, Mathematics or Social Studies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Essential English, Essential Mathematics and Social Studies to Year 11–12 students.
• Create engaging lessons and re-engagement plans to improve attendance and outcomes.
• Collaborate with campus teams to support student wellbeing and progression.

The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation presenting nearly 50 years as a community partner providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services.

The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.Our program has expanded to include The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to our program for all students across Queensland.

Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team support the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

Our teams’ focus is centred at re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon student’s graduation from Year 12.

• A relevant teaching qualification
• Hold full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration as a Teacher in Queensland
