Job summary

McDonald Nissan in Highlands Ranch is seeking an automotive service technician to diagnose, repair, and service vehicles to manufacturer specifications. This role requires precise mechanical skills, a valid driver’s license, and strong customer-facing abilities in a family-owned dealership environment.

You will work with diagnostic tools, collaborate with service staff, and participate in ongoing learning of new technologies and procedures to ensure top-tier service delivery.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Dexterity with steady hand and good hand-eye coordination.
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills; able to operate diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills and proficient computer competencies.
• Positive, friendly attitude with eagerness to improve.
• Teamwork and collaboration with others.
• Ability to learn new technology, repair procedures, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order efficiently and per dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C).
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional required services.
• Provide accurate estimates of time needed for additional repairs.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed
• Provide an accurate estimate of time needed for additional repairs
