Job summary

Morrie’s Minnetonka Ford Lincoln Llc is seeking an automotive technician to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, and brake systems. You will test systems, drive vehicles for tests, and use diagnostic equipment.

Ideal candidates have a clean driving record, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks; entry-level applicants with working knowledge of cars are encouraged.

• Able to work flexible hours and on Saturdays
• A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
• If entry-level, working knowledge of cars highly preferred
• Ability to pass background check

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems with the engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and similar systems.
• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and are working properly.
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes or use various equipment, including hand-held and onboard compression gauges or diagnostic computers.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles.
• Follow a checklist in ensuring that they examine each critical part of the vehicle.
• Watch or inspect closely parts like hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other possible troublesome items.
• Use power tools like pneumatic wrenches in order to remove bolts easily and quickly.
• Use machine tools, such as grinding machines and lathes to rebuild brakes.
• Use common hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers, to work on small-scale parts.
• Write vehicle damage repair estimates
