Job summary

Trust Palmdale Kia is seeking an Automotive Lube Technician to join our Palmdale team. You will perform lubrication, inspections, and related services while following dealership and factory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in automotive.
• Working knowledge of automotive products, repairs and parts preferred.
• Secondary education in automotive field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
• Strong communication skills to translate customer needs into technician orders.
• Authorized to work in the USA; valid driver’s license.
• Pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubrication, safety inspections and related services per repair orders.
• Report to Service Manager and maintain accurate repair records.
• Notify service advisor of any changes affecting vehicle appearance or condition.
• Operate tools safely and maintain shop cleanliness.
• Keep dealership-owned tools and manuals organized and in good condition.

In this position you would be responsible for performing work outlined on a repair order; and performing lubrication, safety inspections and other related services. You would report directly to the Service Manager.

Qualifications:

Essential Duties, but not limited to:

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy,in accordance withdealership and factory standards.
• Sells lubrication, safetyinspectionand other related services.
• Maintains records on regular customers, following up periodically with telephone,mailor personal reminders.
• Drains oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil.
• Replaces oil and air filters.
• Checkstire pressure andaddair if needed.
• Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
• Communicates withthe partsdepartment to obtain needed parts.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions toserviceadvisors.
• Documentsallwork performed on the repair order.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean.Notifythe serviceadvisorimmediatelyof anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Keepsthe shoparea neat and clean.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreastofandcomplies withfederal,stateand local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

Salary Range: $17.00 to $20.00
