Job summary

Dutch Miller of Ashland is seeking a skilled Service Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards. The technician should work without direct supervision and be willing to handle all assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs repair and maintenance work per repair order and factory standards.
• Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
• Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repairs.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles to verify repairs and driveability.
• Participates in manufacturer training programs and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.

Purpose:The ServiceTechnician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. A technician is expected to perform quality work without direct or continual supervision and be able and willing to work on all work assigned to him/her.

Essential Duties:

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspection.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Inspects and test drives newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage ad missing major components and driveability functions.
