Job summary

Phil Long Ford of Raton is seeking an Express Service Technician to help keep customer vehicles safe and running smoothly by performing light maintenance and basic repairs to dealership standards.

You will work from repair orders, document work performed, and communicate with service advisors when timelines or needs change, ensuring efficient, safe service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and 1-3 months related experience/training (or equivalent).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read simple instructions and safety/procedure documents.
• Basic math and practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Oil, lube, and filter services.
• Tire rotation and balancing.
• Fluid checks and top-offs.
• Cooling system flushes.
• Road tests.

What You’ll Handle

As an Express Service Technician, you’ll help keep customer vehicles safe and running smoothly by completing light maintenance and basic repairs to dealership and factory standards. You’ll work from repair orders, document completed and recommended work, and communicate clearly with the service advisor when timelines or needs change.

Key responsibilities include oil/lube/filter services, tire rotation and balancing, fluid checks and top-offs, cooling system flushes, road tests, parts coordination, warranty part tagging, maintaining a clean vehicle and workspace, and following OSHA and hazardous-waste requirements.

A Typical Shift

You’ll start by checking the day’s repair orders, setting up your bay, and making sure the right supplies and tools are ready. Throughout the day, you’ll coordinate with the parts counter and service advisors, give quick status updates, and keep notes organized so nothing gets missed. Between appointments, you’ll stay on top of cleanliness-your work area, shared tools, and the vehicles in your care. You may also spend time reviewing technical bulletins or attending manufacturer training to build confidence and speed as you grow in the role.
