Job summary

Mass General Brigham Express Care in Newton, MA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join a busy onsite team at 71 Needham Street. The role includes 3 shifts of 12.5 hours and requires 2 on-call shifts per 4-week cycle, with overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting clinicians, and managing office tasks. On-site work may include cross-location coverage when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year of direct MA experience or medical fieldwork.
• Completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• National MA certification preferred (AAMA/AMT/NHA/NCCT).

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare equipment for clinicians.
• Interview patients, record vital signs and history.
• Explain procedures and organize patient education materials.
• Handle phones, dictation, and insurance forms; liaise with departments.
• Collect blood and specimens; perform phlebotomy as trained.
• Maintain immunization inventory and check expirations.
• Administer immunizations where certified.
