Job summary

Emmanuel Baptist Church in Hyrum, Utah is seeking a full-time pastor to shepherd a small, growing congregation. The pastor will preach expository sermons, shepherd families, and lead outreach and disciple-making efforts in a culturally LDS context.

The ideal candidate is a seminary graduate with a strong emphasis on Scripture, prayer, and personal growth, and along with staff leadership responsibilities. The role includes a housing allowance discussion, regular preaching, counseling, weddings

Qualifications

• Called to Gospel ministry and shepherding the local church.
• Expository, in-depth preaching of Scripture as the primary means of ministry.
• Affirms the authority and sufficiency of Scripture in all teaching.
• Meets Biblical elder/overseer qualifications per 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expository sermons as primary preacher.
• Disciple and shepherd the church family.
• Develop and train teachers and leaders within the congregation.
• Provide pastoral care and counseling to members and families.
• Lead in planning a calendar of teaching and outreach events.
• Oversee church staff and administrative duties.
