Job summary

Park Woods Presbyterian Church seeks a Pastor to shepherd the congregation with strong Reformed convictions and a teachable heart. You will preach weekly, administer the sacraments, and lead the adult Sunday School as part of a gospel-centered ministry.

You will cultivate personal relationships, mentor leaders, and provide pastoral counseling, while partnering with session and presbytery to advance the church’s mission.

Qualifications

• Be born again in Christ with a calling to Reformed ministry.
• Be a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ and desire to minister to individuals at various faith stages.
• Hold a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent theological education.
• Be proficient in Greek and Hebrew.
• Be ordained or ordainable within the PCA.
• Preach and teach biblically sound sermons with clarity and insight.
• Demonstrate humility, teachability, and dependence on Christ.
• Have a shepherd’s heart for discipleship, hospitality, and evangelism.
• Read broadly across Christian and non-Christian writings with theological depth.
• Remain a constant student of the Word and be a quick learner.
• Refer to scripture confidently when answering theological questions.
• Be highly relational and able to connect with diverse people.
• Stand alongside believers at any stage of faith.
• Maintain a warm, approachable demeanor.
• Prefer intimate congregations over megachurch models.
• Show discretion and sensitivity in confidential matters.

Responsibilities

• Preaches weekly sermons; administers communion and leads Sunday worship.
• Delivers scripture-rooted sermons with redemptive historical theology.
• Preaches expositional and occasional topical series.
• Leads adult Sunday School and occasional Bible studies.
• Officiates baptisms and oversees worship order for bulletins.
• Arranges for guest speakers in the pastor's absence.
• Builds relationships and mentors future leaders within the congregation.
• Visites and encourages homebound or hospitalised members.
• Provides pastoral counseling and refers to professionals when needed.
• Collaborates with the session and presbytery on governance and mission.
