Job Purpose Summary:

The Export Coordinator is a key member of the Supply Chain Team, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Supervisor. The Export Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing logistics activities related to international shipments. This role ensures smooth and efficient operations from booking through shipment. Key responsibilities include managing export bookings, handling freight requests, coordinating with carriers and freight forwarders, and maintaining strong relationships with external vendors and customers.

Job Purpose Summary:

The Export Coordinator is a key member of the Supply Chain Team, reporting directly to the Supply Chain Supervisor. The Export Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing logistics activities related to international shipments. This role ensures smooth and efficient operations from booking through shipment. Key responsibilities include managing export bookings, handling freight requests, coordinating with carriers and freight forwarders, and maintaining strong relationships with external vendors and customers.

This position will be based in Arbuckle, CA through October 2025, after which it will transition to Sacramento, CA.

Job Responsibilities And Accountabilities

  • Export Booking & Freight Coordination
    • Manage the end-to-end export process, including booking space with ocean carriers and NVOCCs, scheduling shipments, and coordinating the flow of goods from origin to destination.
    • Handle freight requests and collaborate with freight forwarders to secure cost-effective, efficient, and timely shipping solutions.
  • Shipment Execution & Documentation
    • Collaborate with internal departments (sales, operations) and external partners (vendors, shippers, carriers) to ensure smooth pick-ups, loading, and deliveries.
    • Serve as a backup to the Documentation Specialist as needed to ensure continuity in documentation processes.
    • Work with customs brokers and other regulatory partners to ensure shipments comply with international trade laws, customs requirements, and carrier policies .
  • Tracking, Communication & Problem Resolution
    • Monitor shipment progress and provide real-time updates to internal teams and customers.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipment status, proactively addressing any concerns or delays.
  • Additional Duties
    • Perform any other related duties as needed.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in export coordination/logistics, international shipping, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot issues related to customs, carriers, and shipping delays.
  • High attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively across departments.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of foreign customs requirements and country-specific shipping documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of Incoterms, export documentation, and export compliance requirements.
  • Background in food production.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Position Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Available to work overtime including some weekends.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
