Job summary

Smith is seeking a Trade Compliance professional to support Operations and Legal in Houston. You will ensure adherence to regional and global trade regulations, manage HTS data, and guide internal teams on compliance matters.

Responsibilities include audits, liaison with Export Licensing, and maintaining customs master data, while coordinating with freight forwarders to document international shipments. Strong analytical and communication skills required.

Qualifications

• Understand regional and global regulatory requirements and advise management/adapt processes as needed.
• Ensure adherence to import/export controls and related regulatory requirements.
• Provide general trade compliance guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Assist in internal and external audits of trade compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Research and maintain customs-related master data (e.g., part type classifications).
• Collaborate with freight forwarders to document international shipments properly.
• Investigate and report unusual activity that may indicate violations to senior management.
