Job summary

Ruby Tuesday in Elizabeth City, NC is seeking an Expo/ expo assistant to ensure timely food preparation and accurate presentation for TueGo, catering, dining room, and bar areas. You will communicate with service and kitchen teams to expedite orders and maintain quality.

The role requires 18+ with no experience necessary, strong guest service skills, and adherence to food safety rules. You’ll work in a fast-paced setting with flexible hours, standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No prior work experience required.
• Ability to understand and provide friendly guest service.
• Ability to understand and comply with proper food handling and serving techniques and with federal, state and local serving regulations.
• Ability to operate a computer, phone and other office equipment.
• Attention to details with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
• Consistent professional attitude and behavior with effective listening and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible and efficient
• Regular attendance and ability to stand or walk for hours; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Use Kitchen Display System (KDS) to manage service flow and guest modifications.
• Ensure hot items stay hot and cold items stay cold; prepare to spec.
• Organize expo table orders by tickets.
• Handle set-up, cleanliness, and station maintenance.
• Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Expedite food for TueGo, Catering, dining room, and bar.
• Support service team to create repeat business and minimize complaints.
• Assist with allergen orders and special requests.
• Maintain a gracious, friendly attitude and teamwork mentality.
