Job summary

Hog Island Oyster Co. is seeking an Expo / Food Runner to act as the essential link between the kitchen and dining room, coordinating timing and sequence of dishes and ensuring accuracy, presentation, and allergens are observed.

You will deliver each dish promptly to the correct guest with clear communication and a calm, efficient approach. The role requires weekend availability, strong attention to detail, and teamwork with restaurant management, servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to maintain

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret kitchen tickets, table/seat numbers, and allergen notices.
• Clear and respectful communication with guests and coworkers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm under high-volume service.
• Regular and reliable attendance including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Working knowledge of food sanitation and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timing and sequence of dishes leaving the kitchen.
• Deliver dishes promptly to guests and announce menu details.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of expo line and stations.
• Follow food-safety procedures and report issues to management.
• Collaborate with FOH and BOH to support restaurant service.
