Job summary

McEwen Mining is seeking an Exploration Geologist to support exploration programs aimed at identifying, evaluating, and expanding mineral resources. Position Overview

The Exploration Geologist supports exploration programs designed to identify, evaluate, and expand mineral resources in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment. This role provides an opportunity to develop practical experience in geological mapping, sampling, core and chip logging, drilling, data collection, and geological interpretation. Working under the direction of the Exploration Manager and the geologic team, the Exploration Geologist assists with the safe and efficient execution of exploration activities and contributes to the collection, management, and interpretation of geological data.

Position Overview

The Exploration Geologist supports exploration programs designed to identify, evaluate, and expand mineral resources in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment. This role provides an opportunity to develop practical experience in geological mapping, sampling, core and chip logging, drilling, data collection, and geological interpretation. Working under the direction of the Exploration Manager and the geologic team, the Exploration Geologist assists with the safe and efficient execution of exploration activities and contributes to the collection, management, and interpretation of geological data.

The Exploration Geologist will work closely with the exploration and technical services teams and will gain exposure to a variety of exploration methods, geological software, databases, and technical reporting. The position is well suited for an early-career geologist interested in developing a career in mineral exploration and resource development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with exploration programs including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, prospecting, surface investigations, and drilling activities.
• Conduct field mapping and collect geological, geochemical, and other exploration data under the direction of senior geological staff.
• Assist with the collection, labeling, organization, and transportation of rock, soil, sediment, and drill samples.
• Support drill programs through drill site preparation, drill monitoring, core handling, geological logging, sampling, and documentation.
• Work with drilling contractors and field crews to support exploration objectives and maintain efficient workflows.
• Assist with field activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and company procedures.
• Participate in the identification and evaluation of exploration targets by collecting and reviewing relevant geological information.
• Assist geologic team with field investigations and followup work on exploration targets.
• Maintain accurate field notes, maps, logs, sample records, photographs, and other geological documentation.
• Assist with data entry, validation, organization, and maintenance of exploration databases.
• Follow established QA/QC procedures for geological, sampling, and assay data.
• Assist with the compilation and interpretation of exploration results.
• Prepare maps, figures, spreadsheets, presentations, and other materials to support exploration activities and technical reporting.
• Develop familiarity with geological modeling, exploration databases, and geological software.
• Communicate field observations and exploration results clearly to senior geological staff.
• Participate in technical meetings, field planning, and project reviews as required.

Geological Interpretation & Modeling

• Develop practical skills in geological mapping, mineral identification, structural interpretation, and exploration targeting.
• Assist with the interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical information.
• Support the development and maintenance of geological interpretations and exploration models.
• Assist with the review and interpretation of drill results, assay data, and geological observations.
• Gain experience with drill hole planning, logging, sampling procedures, and QA/QC practices.
• Support exploration team with the compilation and interpretation of exploration datasets.
• Develop proficiency with geological software, databases, GIS, and other technical tools used in mineral exploration.
• Maintain organized and accurate geological records and project documentation.
• Continue developing knowledge of mineral deposit models and exploration techniques.
• Team Collaboration & Professional Development
• Work collaboratively with exploration team, field technicians, drilling contractors, environmental personnel, and technical services teams.
• Seek guidance and feedback from senior geological staff to develop technical and field skills.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
• Participate in technical discussions, project planning meetings, and exploration reviews.
• Build effective working relationships with field crews, contractors, and project personnel.
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and safetyfocused team environment.
• Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

• Properly manage samples, equipment, vehicles, and field materials.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field required.
• 03 years of relevant experience in mineral exploration, mining, geology, or a related field preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Internship, coop, field camp, academic research, or other relevant geological field experience is an asset.
• Basic understanding of geology, mineral deposits, geological mapping, sampling, and exploration methods.
• Familiarity with drill core or chip logging and geological sampling procedures preferred.
• Familiarity with GIS, geological modeling, databases, Microsoft Office, or other geological software is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation.
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work in remote field environments and variable weather conditions.
• Ability and willingness to travel to exploration sites as required.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Work is performed in both office and remote field environments.
• Frequent travel to exploration sites and drilling locations.
• Ability to walk over rough terrain and uneven ground.
• Climbing slopes, hills, and working in remote locations may be required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs of field equipment or samples.
• Exposure to dust, noise, weather conditions, and outdoor environments typical of exploration work.
• PPE required when indicated by conditions
