Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers is seeking an Expert Welder to join our fabrication team in New Mexico. The role focuses on applying FCAW processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair metal parts per blueprints and layouts.

The successful candidate will read weld maps, operate torch, and maintain weld records while upholding safety practices and contributing to continuous improvement. A high school diploma or GED is required, and at least two years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of verifiable welding experience with 1/16" FCAW groove welds in the flat position.
• Must be able to pass UT inspection daily.
• Proficient in gouging and reading Weld Procedures/Maps.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently perform welding in the flat position.
• Read blueprints and lay-out weld points.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain required welding records.
• Perform multi-pass welding and carbon arcing as needed.
• Coach and train lower level welders.

Job description

Arcosa Wind Towersis looking for an Expert Welder. In this role you will apply appropriate welding processes to join surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. As a professional welder you will use jigs/fixtures to lay-out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. You may also be required to inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and perform minor maintenance to equipment.

Test requirements:

1" plate welded with 1/16" FCAW in the 1G position to be UT tested

1" plate welded with 1/16" FCAW in the 3G position for side bends

What you will do:

• Core Responsibilities

Proficiently perform welding in the flat position

• Proficiently operate torch
• Lay-out and mark weld points
• Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using measuring devices
• Complete and maintain all required records
• Proficiently perform carbon arcing
• Perform multi-pass welding
• Coach and train lower level welders
• Proficiently read blueprints
