Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is seeking a Welder to join our manufacturing team.

You will lay out and weld parts using jigs and fixtures, operating oxy-fuel and arc welding equipment to join and repair metal components per blueprints and work orders. The role requires 2+ years of welding experience or a welding certification, with preferred qualifications in GMAW/Flux Core and the ability to qualify as horizontal and vertical welders.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience or Weld School Certification.
  • Preferred certifications: Grinding, GMAW or Flux Core.
  • Preferred ability to qualify as horizontal welder.
  • Preferred ability to qualify as vertical welder.
  • Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

  • Use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out welds according to blueprints or work orders.
  • Operate manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment.
  • Inspect completed welds for conformance to specifications and maintain equipment.
  • Follow safety rules and maintain required records.
  • May participate in safety committees or initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Arcosa Wind Towers is looking for a Welder. As aWelder, you’ll use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders and use manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. The Welder also inspects completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment.

What you’ll do:
  • Proficiently perform Oxy Fuel Burning and Carbon Arcing
  • May perform multiple pass welds
  • Lay out and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand
    tools
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications
  • Observe all standard safety practices
  • Maintain and complete all required records
  • Follow all safety rules and practices
  • May be involved in safety committees or initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience or Weld School Certification

  • Preferred Ability to qualify as a horizontal welder
  • Preferred Ability to qualify as a vertical welder

Working Conditions:
  • Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
  • This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
  • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
  • Overtime and Overtime on Saturdays, as needed
  • Schedule is subject to change
