Duties:

Researches new technology opportunities and how they can be used to add technical capabilities at Discover. Drives strategic technology decisions based on collaboration with a broad field of experts outside of Discover. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.

Requirements:

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in an Application Engineer-related occupation.

Position Required Skills:

Position requires experience in the following:

• Cloud hosting and management of platform product
• Compute, Java Runtime, and application packaging with messaging expertise
• React and Frontend application frameworks
• React Native or React app and REST Web Services development
• Object-oriented design and implementation
• CI/CD pipelines with technologies including Jenkins, Git, GitHub, or Artifactory
• Working with relational databases and NoSQL database
• Messaging systems such as MQ, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, or Kinesis
• Developing multi-threaded and synchronization applications
• Building secure web applications with user authentication

Position eligible for incentives under Employee Referral Program.

Rate of Pay:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $148,949.00 to $217,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
