Job Title: Expert Application Engineer (multiple openings)

Researches new technology opportunities and how they can be used to add technical capabilities at Discover. Drives strategic technology decisions based on collaboration with a broad field of experts outside of Discover. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.
Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in an Application Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following: Cloud hosting and management of platform product; Compute, Java Runtime, and application packaging with messaging expertise; React and Frontend application frameworks; React Native or React app and REST Web Services development; Object-oriented design and implementation; CI/CD pipelines with technologies including Jenkins, Git, GitHub, or Artifactory; Working with relational databases and NoSQL database; Messaging systems such as MQ, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, or Kinesis; Developing multi-threaded and synchronization applications; Building secure web applications with user authentication.
Position eligible for incentives under Employee Referral Program.
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $148,949.00 to $217,400.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
