PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation innovator in Wichita, KS to deliver expert Experimental N/C programming for precision aerospace components. The role centers on CATIA V5 programming for 3-axis and 5-axis centers, with opportunities to influence tooling, machining strategies, and process development.

You will collaborate with engineers and machinists to ensure programs meet specifications and production demands, in a Full-Time consultant assignment with competitive hourly

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience with CATIA V5, 3-axis CNC programming and 5-axis CNC programming.
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Experience creating, testing, and revising CNC machine programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and optimize N/C programs for precision machined parts.
  • Use CATIA V5 to develop programming solutions for 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
  • Analyze blueprints and job orders to ensure programming accuracy.

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Lunch: 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $55.00 per hour

Your expertise in CNC programming, tooling selection, and machining strategy will directly support the production of high-quality aircraft parts and help drive manufacturing excellence.

Working alongside engineers, machinists, and manufacturing professionals, you'll have the opportunity to influence critical projects while contributing to the success of one of the industry's most respected aviation organizations.

What You'll Do
CNC Programming & Process Development
  • Create and optimize N/C programs for the fabrication of precision machined parts.
  • Utilize CATIA V5 to develop programming solutions for 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
  • Analyze engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and job orders to ensure programming accuracy.
  • Verify programming results against original engineering specifications and design intent.
  • Test, revise, and refine machine programs to maximize efficiency and quality.
Manufacturing Support
  • Select appropriate machine types based on project requirements and part complexity.
  • Determine tooling requirements, including:
    • Work-holding solutions
    • Part orientation strategies
    • Cutting tool selection
  • Provide hands-on machine support during program development and implementation.
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to ensure smooth production operations.
Collaboration & Project Execution
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to meet project milestones and production deadlines.
  • Communicate technical requirements and programming solutions effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and machining performance.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed to support manufacturing objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience with:
    • CATIA V5
    • 3-axis CNC programming
    • 5-axis CNC programming
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications

  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills
