R Jack Balthazar Inc invites a Design Associate to join a fast-paced, team-oriented studio in Los Angeles. The role supports design and production teams, researches concepts, attends meetings, and tracks details from concept through installation and wrap-up.

Candidates should have introductory Adobe Creative Suite knowledge and hands-on experience in events or experiential design. The position requires the ability to work nights and weekends, handle multiple deadlines, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Introductory knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop and Illustrator), SketchUp, Vray, VectorWorks, Microsoft Office and Google Docs Editors Suite.
• 1–2 years’ experience in the event industry.
• Experience with florals, fabrication, construction, lighting, textiles, furnishings, décor or props is preferred.
• Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. and ability to travel.
• Valid CADL and a clean DMV record; background/drug test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Research design concepts and visions with a resourceful and creative approach.
• Attend client and vendor meetings, record notes, photos, and measurements and provide a concise recap to the team.
• Follow event timelines from inception to wrap-up, managing multiple projects with attention to details.
• Support production and fabrication teams to help generate design concepts and mood boards.
