Job summary

DJEH is seeking an Associate Design Director to lead experiential and spatial design for live-event experiences in New York. The role emphasizes craft, communication, and collaboration with internal teams to translate ideas into compelling environments.

You will guide 3D modeling, renders, furniture and decor, while driving design development, presenting to clients, and coordinating with production and account teams in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 7-9 years experience in experiential, exhibition or spatial design.
• Degree or robust experience in Architecture, Interior/Exhibition Design, Graphic Design or related field.
• Portfolio of spatial design work with brand experiences, from conception to execution.
• Strong graphic design lens is required.
• Attention to detail, highly organized, and diligent in follow-through.
• Expert in 3D modeling software (SketchUp, Rhino, Cinema 4D).
• Proficient in 2D drafting language and technical drawings for fabrication.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead creative development and execution of spatial and 3D design elements on projects (medium to large scale).
• Oversee design across 2D/3D, including renders, furniture, decor, and build drawings.
• Lead integrated design team, collaborating with graphic designers, spatial designers, art directors, writers, producers and account managers.
• Present design deliverables to clients and teams, incorporating feedback into revisions.
• Lead site visits and surveys for proper site selection and design implementation.
• Coordinate with production for fabrication, material selections, and cost revisions.
