Job summary

Valmont Industries in Columbus, NE is seeking an experienced Welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld metal components to exact specifications, using blueprints and WPS guidelines, and prepare parts for assembly in a high-volume shop.

You will read tape measures, set up welding equipment, and operate safely around overhead cranes while contributing to the fabrication of steel poles and substations. A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years MIG welding experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and layouts for welding.
  • Understand Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Strong safety awareness and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

  • Weld metal components to fabricate or repair products per blueprints and work orders.
  • Lay out guidelines on parts and cut metal with a torch.
  • Weld structural components for poles, substations, and related structures.
  • Adjust welding equipment and operate in a safe manner.
  • Move poles with an overhead crane and gather materials.

We are looking for a highly driven individual that will weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. A thorough knowledge of welding procedures and practices are essential to ensure the quality of the product.
