Job summary

The San Antonio Food Bank INC in San Antonio, TX is hiring a Warehouse Associate to support shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. You will inspect loads, record discrepancies, and help ensure accurate distribution of products.

• Inspect incoming loads for proper temperature, cleanliness, and pest signs; record discrepancies.
• Rack and replenish products as needed.
• Select product orders and quality control completed orders before distribution.
• Identify and classify food and grocery products.
• Weigh, count, and record quantities to verify invoices and bills of lading.
• Assist in inventory and maintain clean aisles and warehouse areas.
• Represent the San Antonio Food Bank professionally with donors and partners.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and assist in pest control.

Job description

Essential Functions:

• Is responsible for shipping and receiving products.
• Inspect incoming loads prior to unloading to ensure proper temperature, no signs of pest activity and cleanliness of truck. Record any discrepancy on receiving log.
• Racks and replenishes products as needed.
• Will be required to select product orders and quality control completed orders before distribution.
• Identify and classifies food and grocery products using warehouse stock classification list.
• Weigh, count and record amount of sorted and unsorted food boxes, received or distributed, to ensure conformance with invoices and bills of lading.
• Assist in conducting inventory.
• Always act as an ambassador of the San Antonio Food Bank when conducting business with donors, potential donors, partner agencies and donation recipients.
• Maintains assigned aisle and warehouse cleaning task.
• Assist in pest control and ensures white band area is clean and free of obstruction.
• Inspects equipment prior to use.
• Accepts additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job is performed in an indoor environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. Requires work in a cooler/freezer area where temperatures can range from 38° to -11°. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and could increase based on the machinery operating at the time.
