Job description

Wellspring Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands‑on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities Include :

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting in surgery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule and Compensation :

• Compensation: $15-$22 per hour, for each hour worked, pay depending on experience & licensure
• This can be a full-time or part-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and every other Saturday from 8am-12pm.

• Bonus Package: Up to $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Kansas

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Set :

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Kansas** preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:

  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Client education and communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
