Job summary

Meow Bark Veterinary in South Austin, TX is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our locally-owned clinic from the ground up. You’ll gather patient histories, take vital signs, run in-house diagnostics, assist in surgery, and maintain detailed records.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician; license not required but preferred.
• Strong knowledge of animal handling and care.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.
• Ability to stay organized and multitask.
• Compassion and empathy for pets and humans.
• Fear Free Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gather detailed patient histories from pet owners.
• Take vital signs and collect lab samples.
• Run in-house diagnostics (CBC, Chem, UA, cytology, etc.).
• Perform dental and full-body radiographs.
• Assist in surgery and monitor patients pre- and post-op.
• Administer medications and explain discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
