Carnegie Hill Veterinarians in New York City is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to join a busy team. The role focuses on hands-on patient care, technical support, and collaboration with doctors and licensed technicians to maintain high-quality service.

Ideal candidates have prior veterinary hospital experience, strong nursing and diagnostic skills, and a proactive approach to patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary hospital or general practice experience.
• Strong hands-on technical and patient-care skills.
• Confidence with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and treatments.
• Experience supporting surgical and anesthesia cases.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate and thoughtful animal handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support throughout the hospital alongside doctors and licensed veterinary technicians.
• Assist with appointments, treatments, nursing care, and diagnostic procedures.
• Support surgical and anesthesia procedures and patient recovery.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment and patient-care areas.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners and team members.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure smooth patient flow throughout the day.
