Bedford Veterinary Medical Center is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our multi-doctor hospital in Bedford, NH. You will support veterinarians and technicians, perform clinical tasks, communicate with clients, and help ensure high-quality patient care.

The role involves handling a variety of duties from restraining and triage to handling lab work, imaging, and assisting in surgeries, with opportunities for growth in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Confidence in restraint, lab work, and assisting with procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong multitasking and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with preventative care, surgical support, and clinic flow.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively restraining pets using low-stress techniques.
• Triage and intake of incoming patients.
• Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, etc.).
• Assisting with radiographs and diagnostic imaging.
• Administering medications and monitoring patients.
• Supporting nursing care for hospitalized and medical cases.
• Preparing patients and instruments for surgery; assisting in procedures.
• Monitoring patients under anesthesia.
• Communicating treatment plans and updates to clients with compassion and clarity.
