SouthPark Animal Clinic in Littleton, Colorado, seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support patients and clients across exams, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient care.

This role offers a versatile day with safe patient handling, accurate record-keeping, and clear client communication. The position is full-time with a 4/10 schedule, Monday–Friday and rotating Saturday half-day coverage, paying $22–$25 per hour.

SouthPark Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

This is an excellent opportunity for a versatile veterinary assistant who enjoys variety in their day and wants to continue utilizing and developing a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. The practice sees a diverse range of patients, including dogs and cats, pocket pets, birds, reptiles, and turtles, providing an exciting opportunity to work with multiple species and expand your clinical skillset.

We are seeking dependable, motivated candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, anticipate team needs, communicate professionally, and take pride in delivering exceptional support throughout every stage of the patient visit.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and stress-free restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 22 - $25 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating Saturday coverage for a half-day shift.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 4+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant required
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Safe animal handling and stress-free restraint skills for dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, and avian of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Client communication and education
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
  • Ability to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures
  • Ability to assist in surgical procedures and dental prophy's
  • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
