For Paws Veterinary Clinic in Falcon, Colorado seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support patient care, client communication, surgical and dental support, and outpatient procedures.

The role involves exam room workflow, safe animal handling, medical record maintenance, and collaboration with a caring team to ensure exceptional visits for pets and families.

This part-time position runs 7:30am–5pm, 3-4 days per week, with a benefits package described by the clinic.

Job description

For Paws Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care.

This is a great opportunity for a versatile veterinary assistant who enjoys a diverse caseload and variety in their day. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to build and utilize a well-rounded skillset across patient care, client communication, surgical and dental support, and outpatient procedures.

We’re looking for a dependable, motivated team member who thrives in a fast-paced environment, works efficiently, anticipates the needs of the team, communicates professionally, and takes pride in providing exceptional care and support throughout every patient visit.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and stress-free restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 16 - $18 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a part-time position, with a 7:30am - 5pm schedule and availability needed 3-4 days a week Wednesday - Friday.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Safe animal handling and stress-free restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Surgical set-up and assisting
  • Ability to assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures
  • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs
  • Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
  • Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
