Job summary

Rockville Road Animal Hospital in Indianapolis is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced 2-doctor practice.

You will perform animal restraint, triage patients, collect and analyze lab samples, assist in imaging, manage nursing care, and help with anesthesia and surgical prep. We value communication and teamwork and provide ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years Veterinary Assistant experience
• Anesthesia experience required
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining histories, processing lab tests and radiographs; anesthesia monitoring bonus
• Self-starter with desire to continue to advance knowledge and skills

Responsibilities

Job Description

Job duties include, but are not limited to: Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1+ years experience required
• Anesthesia experience required

Additional Information

Pay Range:

$17-$20/hr
