  • At least 1 year of equine veterinary assistant experience preferred.
  • Confident handling and restraining horses.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced clinic.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and support daily workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Feed and treat hospitalized patients.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Confidently handle and restrain horses for veterinary care.
  • Operate diagnostic and therapeutic equipment (X-ray, ultrasound, etc.).
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments.
  • Collect diagnostic samples and perform in-house lab tests.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and client communication.
  • Support surgical procedures and post-op care.
  • Maintain clean and organized treatment areas.
  • Collaborate to ensure efficient daily workflow.

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: 4 days per week and 1 weekend per month

What Our Veterinary Assistants Do
  • Feed and treat hospitalized patients
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Confidently handle and restrain horses for veterinary care
  • Operate diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including X-ray, shockwave, ultrasound, therapy laser, Digatherm, gastroscope, and more
  • Prepare and administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture
  • Assist with catheter placement
  • Support fluid therapy
  • Collect diagnostic samples
  • Run in-house laboratory testing, including CBC/chemistry, fecal testing, and other diagnostics
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts
  • Educate clients with compassion, clarity, and confidence
  • Communicate with clients regarding lab results, patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs
  • Support surgical procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked patient-care and treatment areas
  • Anticipate the needs of veterinarians, patients, and teammates
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain an efficient daily workflow
