Quality Veterinary Care in Elmont, NY seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced family-style practice. Responsibilities include animal restraint, triage, lab work, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.

Qualifications

• An experienced Veterinary Assistant with a minimum of 1-year experience preferred.
• Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus!
• Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises; may be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Quality Veterinary Care is a well-established, progressive, fastpaced 4doctor general small animalpractice located in Elmont, NY. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including Preventative Care, Surgery, Dentistry, In-House Diagnostics, Digital full body and dental radiology, and Ultrasonography.

Quality Veterinary Care is located in Elmont, NY just outside the bustling New York City center on Long Island. The proximity to the Long Island Railroadallows for easy commute anywhere in the city. ElmontK-6 public schools are almost all A-rated and boast lower student-to-teacher ratios than the average NY public schools, making it an ideal area to raise a family! Popular activities in the area include a visit to the Belmont Park Racetrack, a visit to the beach or enjoying the great restaurants in the area. Mon: 9AM - 8PM
Tues: 9AM - 8PM
Wed: 9AM - 7PM
Thurs: 9AM - 8PM
Fri: 9AM - 8PM
Sat & Sun: 9AM - 2PM

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
