Job summary

Ramsey Animal Hospital, a WellHaven Pet Health hospital in the NW suburbs near Minneapolis, seeks an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our busy team. The role supports veterinarians and technicians in surgery, dentistry, and exams while delivering compassionate client service.

You will maintain medical records, educate clients on wellness plans, perform reception duties, manage supplies, and help keep a safe, fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; NAVTA-approved program preferred.
• 6+ months veterinary industry experience.
• Completion of NAVTA-approved program or equivalent demonstrates required knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure animal well-being.
• Maintain medical records with accuracy and compliance.
• Educate clients about wellness plans and pet care.
• Assist with surgery, dentistry, laboratory procedures, venipuncture.
• Handle reception duties: phone calls, appointments, patient intake/discharge.
• Manage hospital supplies and inventory.
• Uphold safety and sterile environment.
